Cinnamon Twists with fudgy chocolate sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 heaped tsp ground cinnamon
  • Dipping sauce
  • 1 cup dark cooking chocolate
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream.

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C on a fanned function.
  • Brush each sheet of pastry with butter until it is all covered, it doesn't haven't to be thick just make sure it's all covered.
  • Sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture covering the surface, use your hands to press around and press down slightly.
  • Fold the pastry in half and press it together so the cinnamon sugar gets a little more grip.
  • Brush with the surface with more butter, again it doesn't have to be thick just make sure the surface is covered.
  • Sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar covering the whole surface.
  • Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut your pastry into about 1" strips, twist each strip a couple of times and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cook for 15 - 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • While the pastry is cooking, in a small saucepan on an induction cooktop, melt the chocolate and cream on a level one whisking to mix well.Serve warm with the pastry twists. If using a gas cooktop, select the lowest heat setting.
